Activities in Denver, Groups and Tours

Denver, Colorado. Denver is the capital city in the state of Colorado. It is located on the plains about 45 minutes from the mountains. Denver is a medium sized city of approximately 1.9 million inhabitants. It is a growing city with a strong economy. You can find almost anything you want in Denver. There are museums, historical districts, coffee houses, nightclubs, theaters, symphonies and 5 major league sports teams: Denver Broncos (American Football), Colorado Rapids (soccer), Denver Nuggets (basketball), Colorado Rockies (baseball), and the Colorado Avalanche (hockey). The city offers up scale shopping and a variety of ethnic neighborhoods. Denver is just 1 hour away from world famous ski resorts which offer down hill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and other winter sports. In the summer, mountain resorts offer hiking, white water rafting, hot air ballooning, mountain biking, rock climbing, western shows and rodeos and golfing along with other fun activities.

Climate in Colorado. The climate in Colorado is dry and boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year. During the summer, the temperature ranges from 75-95 degrees Fahrenheit. During the winter, the weather is temperate with an occasional snowfall. The winter is very mild in comparison with other parts of the country.

Field Trips. The school offers at least one field trip each month. The students help us choose the field trips. We go to museums, ski, hike in the mountains, visit factories and plants, have picnics, see movies etc. Field trips are free for full-time students (in the Intensive English Program).

Sight-see and study tours. We can design special programs for groups. For example, if your group wants to ski, we can design a 2 to 8 week tour which includes skiing (overnight trips to ski resorts in the Rocky Mountains or day trips) and English classes. We can design any type of tour for any group. You choose the English classes that you want and the activities, and we will work with you to design an affordable tour.
