The TESL/TEFL
Certificate Program is a full-time
program offering a study of theory, methodology, presentation
styles and issues, classroom management
and cultural sensitivity. Round table
discussions allow the student to develop
a personal teaching philosophy and share
relevant experiences relating to teaching
and to international living. The program
is divided into three terms, and includes
10 hours of observation of professional
classes and 30 hours of teaching
practice. These observation and practicum
hours are scheduled according to
participants needs, class times, and

- Cultural Shock and Acculturation
- Computer Assisted Language Learning
- Getting a job: resumes, cover letter, interviews
- Teaching Reading and Writing

Admission
Information and Checklist
To be accepted into the Colorado School of
English TESL/TEFL Certificate
Program, all students must have completed
at least 2 years of college or university
course work with a 2.25 minimum G.P.A.
International students must have a score
of 213 (550 paper based score) or above on the International
TOEFL or the Institutional TOEFL test. To
apply for admission, please send the
following documents to Colorado School of English. If for any reason you cannot
include any of these documents, please
send a written explanation as to why they
were omitted.

- Transcripts from an accredited
college or university with degree
earned
- $210.00 Application Fee
- Copy of your TOEFL scores, if
applicable
If you are an international student
and need an I-20, you must also include a
photocopy of the identification page of
your passport and financial information
from your bank which indicates that you
have enough money to cover your tuition
and expenses while studying in the U.S.
