Transferring from another SEVP-approved ESL school in the United States?
We issue acceptance letters and transfer forms, which students send to their current school’s Designated School Official (DSO) in order to request a transfer of their SEVIS record to Colorado School of English.

The F1 Transfer Promotional Rate is only valid one time, for the initial program length on a student's Form I-20 for up to 1 year maximum. If you later extend your program or transfer in a second time your tuition increases to $775.

Start Dates
Colorado School of English is an open enrollment school. We have term start dates every month. View the calendar to choose your start date.
Please note, per USCIS regulations transfer students must start classes on the next available start date after their SEVIS record is transferred. We have start dates every month, so make sure to check your SEVIS Release date on your transfer form before sending it to your current DSO.
Program Lengths
Students can choose how long they would like to study at CSE. Depending on their current English level, they can study with us for up to 3 years in order to reach their English language goals.
Students pass from one level to the next after one session, depending on their academic standing.
Classes
As a full-time student, F1 visa holders take 18 hours of classes per week. Students take 3 classes per day, Monday through Thursday.

Each of our classes is divided by skill level, allowing for smaller class sizes and more personalized instruction. Students will be enrolled in classes depending on their current English levels and class size. Please be aware that not all class schedules are available at all times. We will consider the schedule you request (day or evening), but we cannot guarantee it as it will depend on your current English levels and class size.

Application Process

Complete the online application.

Pay the first invoice.

Students must pay the application fee and first term of tuition before transferring to CSE.

Receive the acceptance letter and transfer request form.

Send documents to the DSO at your current school (as they will transfer your record)

SEVIS Release Date - Transfer students must start classes on the next available start date after their SEVIS record is transferred.

Report to Orientation Day where you will take your placement test.

Start classes - after attending Orientation and starting classes, students receive their active I-20.
Required Documents

A legible and valid copy of the student's passport

A copy of the student's F-1 visa

A copy of the student's most recent I-20

You will need to provide a Bank Statement - to prove funding for tuition and living expenses.

It must be less than 6 months old.

It must show $1,830 for every month you would like to study.

For example, for a 12-month program, the bank statement needs to show $22,000.

If the student has any dependents, they will need to demonstrate an additional $1,055 per month for each dependent.

For example, for a 12-month program with 1 dependent, the bank statement needs to show $34,620.

If the bank statement does not have the student's name on it, you will need to add the name of the sponsor to the application.
