Do you have classes for Au Pairs?
Updated: Aug 1
Are you an Au Pair in the US? Do you need to complete your educational credits for your visa requirement? If you answered 'yes' to both of those questions, our English for Au Pairs program would be perfect for you!
The English for Au Pairs program is very flexible. We have a Day Program and an Evening Program so you can choose whatever classes work best for your schedule! You can complete anywhere between 1 to 6 credits with us and you can start your program any Monday!

What classes do you offer?
Our Day Program is offered 4 days/week, Monday through Thursday. All classes are divided by level. We currently have 4 different levels (based on the Global Scale of English). All times are listed in Colorado Mountain Time. You can enroll in any of the following courses:
Reading & Writing: Monday through Thursday @ 9:30am - 11:00am
Grammar: Monday through Thursday @ 11:05am - 12:35pm
Speaking & Listening or TOEFL Preparation: Monday through Thursday @ 1:05pm - 2:35pm
Note: in order to qualify for the TOEFL Preparation class, you must test into the upper intermediate level.
In our Evening Program, we offer three different courses:
Intro to English Review: Tuesday & Thursday @ 6:30pm - 8:30pm
TOEFL Preparation: Monday and Wednesday @ 6:30pm - 8:30pm
English Review: Tuesday & Thursday @ 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Note: in order to qualify for the English Review and TOEFL Preparation classes, you must test into the upper intermediate level.
You can choose to split your credits between both programs, if you would like. For your information: to earn 1 credit in the Day Program you must attend 8 classes, and to earn 1 credit in the Evening Program you must attend 6 classes. Keep reading for more information about how to earn your credits.
How do I apply?
You can fill out our application here. Make sure you select 'English for Au Pairs' under program and answer all of the questions. The only required document that you will need to upload is a copy of your J1 visa (and DS2019, if you have already extended your program). Once you have submitted your application, you will hear back from a Student Services Coordinator within 2 business days.
What's next?
Once your application is approved, you will receive an email with the next steps and a link to pay the $25 application fee. Once we've received payment for your application fee, we will send you the links to complete your placement tests. There are 4 placement tests you will need to complete: reading, writing, grammar, and speaking. After you have completed your tests, we will send you an email with your class choices.
Once you've decided on your classes, you can start classes ANY MONDAY! You can always change your class schedule after you start your classes, if needed.
Do I need any books?
It depends on the classes that you sign up for. There is a required textbook for the Grammar class and the TOEFL Preparation classes. The other classes do not require a textbook. Once you are registered, we will send you a link where you can purchase any required textbooks online or you can purchase the book at the school. We sell the Grammar textbooks for $50 and the TOEFL Preparation textbooks for $50.
How fast can I finish my credits?
To earn 1 credit in the Day Program you need to attend a total of 8 classes. To earn 6 credits in the Day Program you need to attend a total of 48 classes. There are 12 classes available to you each week. In this program, Au Pairs are allowed 4 weeks to finish 1 credit, 6 weeks to finish 3 credits, or 12 weeks to finish 6 credits.
To earn 1 credit in the Evening Program you need to attend a total of 6 individual classes. To earn 6 credits in the Evening Program you need to attend a total of 36 classes. There are either 2 or 4 classes available to you each week (depending on your level). In this program, Au Pairs are allowed 4 weeks to finish 1 credit, 12 weeks to finish 3 credits, or 6 months to finish 6 credits.
You can finish your credits faster in the Day Program. You are also welcome to split them between programs. If you are not able to complete your credits before your original deadline(s), you can pay a $25 Re-Enrollment Fee to continue for 4 more weeks.
Do you provide a credit letter once I've completed my credits?
Yes! Once you have finished your classes, you can request a credit letter and/or certificate on ClassReach, which is our student management system, or you can email a Student Services Coordinator. We will issue your documents within 1 week.
