Program Lengths
Students can choose how long they would like to study at CSE. Depending on their current English level, they can study with us for up to 3 years in order to reach their English language goals.
Students pass from one level to the next after one session, depending on their academic standing.
Classes
As a full-time student, F1 visa holders take 18 hours of classes per week. Students take 3 classes per day, Monday through Thursday.

Each of our classes is divided by skill level, allowing for smaller class sizes and more personalized instruction. Students will be enrolled in classes depending on their current English levels and class size. Please be aware that not all class schedules are available at all times. We will consider the schedule you request (day or evening), but we cannot guarantee it as it will depend on your current English levels and class size.

Application Process

Complete the online application to the Colorado School of English.

Pay CSE application fee.
-
Receive acceptance letter and Initial I-20.
-
Submit Form DS-160.
-
Locate the embassy or consulate where you will attend your visa appointment.
-
Pay MRV fee ($185) and use the receipt number to schedule an appointment.
-
Pay I-901 SEVIS fee ($350) anytime before your interview.
-
Attend interview at the embassy or consulate.
-
Receive the visa & send a copy to CSE.
-
Payment for the first term of tuition is required upon receipt of the F1 visa.
-
Purchase plane tickets & send a copy to CSE.
-
Arrive in Denver within 30 days before your program start date.

Report to your Orientation Day, where you will take your placement test.

Take placement tests to determine your English level.

Start classes on your program start date.
Requirements
-
Students must be at least 15 years old at the time of application.
-
You will need to provide a copy of the student's legible and valid Passport.
-
If the student has dependents, provide their passports as well.
-

You will need to provide a Bank Statement - to prove funding for tuition and living expenses.
-
It must be less than 6 months old.
-
It must show $1,830 for every month you would like to study.
-
For example, for a 12-month program, the bank statement needs to show $22,000.
-

If the student has any dependents, they will need to demonstrate an additional $1,055 per month for each dependent.
-
For example, for a 12-month program with 1 dependent, the bank statement needs to show $34,620.

If the bank statement does not have the student's name on it, you will need to add the name of the sponsor to the application.
